Rose Ames

Had Rose not pursued an affordable alternative to the original "Active Learning� equipment, the Site Of Senses Project would not have been started. As a classroom Specialist, Rose witnessed the struggles of the Site Of Senses Kids and advocated for them inside and outside the classroom.

Nancy Smith

For nearly 40 years, Nancy has advocated for, taught and cared for the Site Of Sense Kids in Wisconsin. Even in retirement, she continues to teach other Professionals the many lessons she has learned over her distinguished career. As a member of the Project Team, Nancy provided all the technical/use guidance for the development of all components of the SOS Kit. Nancy has also recently agreed to be a Director of the Public Charity portion of the Project.

Jeanne Appleton

Jeanne has 9 years experience as a Vision Teacher and 22 years experience as an Occupational Therapist in multiple school districts in the state of Wisconsin. As a member of the Project Team, Jeanne provided field evaluation of the durability and usability of the Kit. This user input during the design phase greatly shortened the time required to make the Kit ready to use.

David Haldiman

When you view the Site Of Sense video you can see why David is a successful independent Videographer. Vision impairment and physical handicaps are known to David�s family. His calm, soothing voice and expert video production skills tell the Site Of Senses story so all understand as he does.

Ed Pulliam

Ed is an original Kiwanis project Founder. The list of Ed�s contributions includes project investigation and start-up, club/manufacturer liason, presenter, advisor and now web-site developer. Ed has even manufactured the sensory toy kits in his basement!

Andy Frelich

Andy is an original Kiwanis project Founder. The list of Andy�s contributions includes project investigation and start-up, club/manufacturer liason, advisor and information printer. Andy continues to work with Kiwanis International on matters of insurance and liability, and, as a member of the Wisconsin - Upper Michigan Kiwanis Foundation Board of Directors, has facilitated cooperation with the foundation.

Mary Helen Thomas

As a Special Education Teacher for the Waukesha, WI school district, Mary Helen has implemented the Active Learning process in the district utilizing the Site Of Senses equipment. She has opened the door to her classroom for visits by many desiring to move the Project forward and has given of her personal time when giving presentations to groups and organizations. Mary Helen makes the process work and her students are benefiting daily.

David Hyde

David is the Director of Professional Development for the Wisconsin School for the Blind and Visually Impaired in Janesville, WI. David has recently agreed to be a Director of the Public Charity portion of the Project and secured the first Grant in 2009. David�s own visual impairment helps others to see that multi-handicapped kids require so much more.
